What our patients are saying...

children wearing a mask

We are focused on the prevention of spreading COVID-19.

Currently, a large percentage of our children population remain unvaccinated against COVID-19 and its variants.

In following CDC guidelines and reduce the risk for exposure during dental procedures, we are limiting the number of people permitted into our clinical & office spaces and closed our waiting lobby.

Children with appointments who are old enough to attend alone should be encouraged to do so.

ONE adult person will be allowed to accompany the appointed child (* certain situations may be considered- speak with our front desk).

All other persons, including siblings without appointments are asked to wait safely in their vehicles.

We appreciate your understanding as we do our best to keep everyone safe.

  • If you or anyone close to you are feeling sick (fever, running nose, sore throat, cough or vomiting) please reschedule.
  • Smiles is a clinical setting in which we provide invasive dental procedures, therefore we are following recommendations issued by CSDA and CDC to require anyone (children included) entering the office to wear a mask and have their temperature taken.

  • Refusal to wear a mask will result in rescheduling the appointment.

  • ALL New & Established patients coming in for cleanings are required to complete digital patient forms.

  • Forms are NOT reviewed by a clinical staff member UNTIL you arrive for the appointment time.  If you have questions in regards to keeping this appointment please call the office 860-633-5246.

  • A member of our clinical staff will verbally ask the COVID screening questions when you arrive before entry.

Important things you need to know about your visit:

  • PARK AND REFER TO THE SIGNS  posted OUTSIDE of our building.

  • TEXT FIRST!  Please DO NOT ENTER our office!

  • Stay in your car and text the patient name to the number listed( either number will reach us)  to let us know you are here. * There may be more than one person checking in at a time- make sure you identify yourself-
  • A member of our team will first call you to verbally ask the COVID-19 screening questions and then instruct when to come in and greet you at the door.
  • Please enter wearing your mask.  We will take your temperature and have you sanitize your hands at the door prior to escorting you to the treatment areas.
  • We are encouraging patients to come into the office on their own.  If you must come in with your child, we ask that only ONE adult come in for that visit.

  • We ask that you ONLY bring the child or children that have an appointment that day.   We are limiting the number of people allowed in the treatment areas.  We ask that other sibling's or family members who are not being seen to stay home or wait with another adult outside of the building.

  • Please maintain social distancing staying 6 feet apart from others

  • We will be wearing N95's, surgical masks, goggles, shields, gowns, head coverings and gloves.  Please talk with your child and prepare them so they are not scared.

  • The beloved TOY machine has been removed.  Children will receive a dental goodie bag at the end of the visit and will be allowed to choose one toy offered at our front desk.

  • Kindly brush and floss before your appointment.  Our brushing stations will be closed.

  • We strictly follow all guidelines of the CDC, OSHA, ADA and the state of Connecticut.  Please refer to their websites frequently for updated and complete information.
